Get fancy with sparkling water served with a slice of lemon or lime, or a sprig of mint. These options are delicious and low in calories. Plus, drinking water helps you stay hydrated. That will help your skin – hydrated skin is plump so it looks younger and less wrinkled.

Is dieting worth it? No! Wear your swimsuit with pride without being a Grouch! According to a 2009 study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, eating a low fat diet has more positive effects on your mood than a low carb diet. Eat a healthy, whole food-based diet that includes quality carbohydrates such as vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, beans and whole grains.

Eating is only one part of a healthy plan to keep your beach body in top shape. Getting enough sleep and exercise are also very important. Well-rested adults get 8 hours of sleep a night. As for getting toned-up for the beach, focus on multiple repetitions of slow and controlled muscle-contracting exercises such as those done in a yoga class, a paddle-boarding ride, or a moderately intense hike.
